Project Coordinator

The Association Paredes for Social Inclusion (APPIS) was created in 2007 by a group of entrepreneurs (42) that pretended to give their contribute and demonstrate their social responsibility for social inclusion by the education. In this moment the association has 13 professionals although 3 of them are assigned for other partner entity. APPIS develops a innovative family mediation project in all 3rd and 2nd cycles schools of Paredes county (9 schools). The association is dedicated to activities that rises the skills of students and their families in order to scholar success. The strategic objective of APPIS is fighting school failure and school dropout through the prevention and remediation of risk factors and by inducing external factors of success. Additionally APPIS also developed in 2010 and 2011 a project called Previne Paredes that aims to prevent risk behaviors and to promote healthy habits of life. Since October 2012 APPIS is developing a project of Transfer of Innovation named Family Mediation to spread over 5 countries their methodology and together with the other partners create a innovative intercultural family mediation model.

Electronic compass is a small medium enterprise that provides Information Technology and educational services to other companies, professionals and trainees.

The company offers a number of solutions to customers such as interactive web site development, e-commerce, graphics (leaflets, logos, illustrations), video production, 3D, Internet marketing and e-learning courses.

The enterprise’s approach is to deliver a good quality of work that takes into account the needs of minority groups like elderly and persons with disabilities. Electronic Compass technology applications and experience can support the disadvantaged groups with the production of web and multimedia products accessible and friendly in use and assist them in that way in independence and freedom.

Electronic compass provides a number of education services in the field of multimedia, 3D animation, accessibility in technology (e.g. accessible web sites and PDF files), project management software, through fully accessible e-learning environments.

Consequently this knowledge base enriched by our collaboration with other social scientists and personnel contributes to the production of qualitative and successful education courses to trainees and other professionals.

Additionally the enterprise is quite active in courses (via web platforms) or physical in the field of social sciences. The Social scientist (co-finder) of the enterprise has several years of experience in elderly matters and research on new supportive technologies to disadvantage and marginalized groups.

Kairos Europe is a company founded in 2011 with the aim of promoting and implementing projects in the field of adult education. Our team is made up of people with years of experience in the management of European funded projects and also in language teaching.

We are particularly interested in promoting or taking part in projects where the focus is given on disadvantaged people (people lacking formal education, migrants, unemployed, asylum seekers, people living in remote areas, and so on.).We also aim at bringing together partners coming from all European countries, in order to promote projects with the purpose of sharing good practices, discussing problems and compare solutions on particular topics of common interest.

Kairos Europe is currently implementing various projects in the field of adult education, among which one aimed at parents, and one directed to people with disabilities.

Kairos Europe also works with partners from all over Europe in order to host participants participating in different projects (such as the Leonardo da Vinci Mobility projects) and organises the various stages of the participants’ stay, which includes, airport transfer, accommodation, work placement management, language course, social programme and other services.

Project Partner

CFAEPPP is a public institution acting by virtue of national acts established in July 2008, as a result of the joining of three former in service teacher training centers, which had been created in 1992. It is located in Escola Secundária de Vilela and spans three municipalities: Paredes, Paços Ferreira and Penafiel.

It assembles eighteen schools/aggregated schools, from kindergarten to secondary level, with around 3,000 teachers and around 1,000 workers (administrative, psychologists and other school employees). The largest school has 246 teachers and the smallest 120.

Our team includes a director, an ICT assistant, a pedagogical assistant and an administrative assistant. Besides, there also is Pedagogical Board, constituted by all school headmasters/headmistresses, where pedagogical decisions are taken.

As an in service training center, our mission is to prepare educational circles to achieve the goals and tasks which are assigned in a modern school.

We aim to meet the needs of education professionals in order to promote students’ success. Workshops, conferences, courses and seminars are organized so that teachers’ skills and knowledge are improved and updated. Whenever required we also provide further professional support. At present, we are responsible for coordinating the external teacher evaluation.

We have not only participated in several Comenius Regius projects but also organized an in service teaching training course for European teachers.

Our schools are 30 Km away from Porto, the 2nd major  city in Portugal.
AEV comprehends different levels of learning:

  • Pre-school education – optional
  • Basic school – 1st, 2nd, 3rd cycles     (compulsory)
  • Secondary school       (compulsory)

The agroupment have 7 buildings:
Escola Secundária de Vilela: It is an elementary and secondary school, with 4 Pavillions, a canteen and a Gym
Escola EB2,3 de Rebordosa: It is an elementary and secondary school, with 3 Pavillions, a canteen and a Gym
2 School Centers – Centro escolar de Rebordosa e Centro Escolar de Vilela, (Both with Kindergarten + primary school)
- E.B.1/JI da Serrinha – Kindergarten + primary school
- E.B.1/JI do Muro- Kindergarten + primary school
- Jardim de Infância de S. Marcos- Kindergarten

Basic level : 1737; Secondary level: 615; Professional course of basic level:  15; Professional courses of secondary level: 233.
Total of 2585 students.
Teachers and assistents:

  • 220 teachers from almost all areas of expertise.
  • 15 secretary assistants
  • 45 operational assistants

We also have a training center for teachers, called CFAEPPP.

It offers several training courses and qualification for school personnel in various educational and technical areas.
Currently, teachers are being trained in Information Communication Technology,( ICT Level 2), according to a technological school plan. It is a governmental project for “upgrading” Portuguese schools, implementing the use of Interactive whiteboards,  for example.

Our school has been involved in some international projects which try to encourage the school community to participate (pupils, students, teachers, school staff, and parents) in the pursuit of important goals:

Professional Foundation is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization, established in 1998 with a view to promoting high quality in education, intercultural tolerance and appreciation, life-long learning, human rights, fight against poverty and discrimination and social inclusion.

It promotes intercultural dialogue, develop and support networking at local and international levels, encourage international cooperation.  It is approved and accredited by the Ministry of Education for “Continuing Education”.

It is a member of QUEST - The Romanian Association for Quality Language Services which is an associate member of EAQUALS - The European Association for Quality Language Services. In its 14 years of  activity Professional Foundation has organized a lot of events being immersed in human rights activities with children, teenagers, adults, seniors, women and people with special needs, offering  training and assistance to  over 2000 trainees, with an emphasis on the new communication strategies as well as specialized methodology courses for teachers, mentors, women, adults, seniors and students.

ProF has been a coordinator and partner in many European Projects.

Associació Empresarial L’Alqueria Projectes Educatius (ALPE)

The Business Association of L´Alqueria Education Projects (Associació Empresarial L’Alqueria Projectes Educatius (ALPE)), is a nonprofit association. 

The fundamental objectives of our association are the following:

  • To promote and encourage permanent vocational training and professional recycling for occupied workers, the unemployed, women, the youth, handicap persons, affected and victims of terrorism, violence of gender, the unemployed that have been so, for a long period of time, those older than 45 years of age, immigrants and persons with risk of social exclusion.
  • To promote and foster vocational training for employment, the insertion and professional orientation.
  • To facilitate the trainer center groups of vocational training, having it be the same for public as for private, in this way, improving the quality of teaching given there, as well as the services executed there too. 
  • The collaboration of conducting activities related with permanent vocational training and professional recycling with other entities, having it be the same for public as for private entities.
  • Fulfilling and collaborating of educational projects within the framework of the European Union. 
  • To encourage the use of TIC as a communication and diffusion tool. 
  • To organize courses, conferences, seminars and interdisciplinary workshops.
  • To collaborate with countries of the European environment in the promotion of culture and education. 
  • To publish, translate, interpret brochures, magazines or books. To carry out and file articles, documentaries in video format, films or whatever other audiovisual format. 
  • To promote and foster the care and protection of health, safety, hygiene and the prevention of workplace hazards.
  • To promote with educational actions, areas related with the protection of the environment.  
  • To carry out and organize sports activities, to encourage solidarity, tolerance and integration. 
  • To collaborate with public and private entities interested in strengthening the Valencian identity and its presence in the world, and in all that coincides with the objectives of the Association.
  • To collaborate and fulfill projects that help to obtain the aimed results of the Association. 



ALPE has a consolidated team made up of specialized technicians in different thematic areas, inheriting their own professional and technical experience, with reference to:

  • Comenius Continuous Vocational Training.
  • Grundtvig Continuous Vocational Training.
  • Leonardo Continuous Vocational Training.
  • Insertion and Professional Orientation.
  • Complementary and Accompaniment Actions.
  • Occupational and Continuous Formation, corresponding to the subsidies granted by SERVEF (Economic Ministry, Treasury Department, and Employment Department of the Valencian Community). 
  • Subsidized Vocational Training Projects by the IMPIVA – Instituto de la Mediana y Pequeña Industria Valenciana (Institute of medium-size and small industry of Valencia).



  • ALPEhas consolidated a team of specialized technicians in different thematic areas, who develop multidisciplinary tasks as to be able to cover all the actions of the vocational training.
  • All of the members of this team made up of professional persons will be those that provide the needed coverage, the same being for the technical side as for the professional side; in this way, the requested service in the state field can be executed.  
  • This personnel structure is what will permit to undertake with sureness and professionalism that all the projects will be able to be carried out.


ALPE relies on a personal team, who are experts at vocational training and employment. On the other hand, the administrative department relies on an experienced team of professionals.

Epoca is a professional association based in Southern Italy. The association was established as a result of our many years’ experience with  international projects  as well as our work in the area of non formal and informal education for young and adults learners. 

Over the past 7 years Epoca team has been involved with E.U. Lifelong Learning all over Europe.

Epoca has long experience in organising education, training and work experience for people all over the world. It has expertise in offering prestigious work placements, different accommodation solutions, and language courses in Reggio Calabria’s province. The aim of Associazione Culturale Epoca is to increase mobility and intercultural dialogue, to promote creativity and employability through quality work placements, cultural exchanges and social activities and to give the trainees an opportunity to experience the life, work and culture of Italy.
